How our smoking supports child labour in developing countries.
When we smoke, we support an industry that’s giving people jobs - not in itself a bad thing. But when we think that on some tobacco estates in Africa, 78% of children aged 10–14 work purely so that their parents can keep their home, and when we think that child labour is exploited in a number of tobacco-growing areas across the globe, maybe we should think twice before lighting up.
